FDCSD Approves Option to Sell Middle School Buildings
The Fort Dodge Community School District has approved an option to sell two middle school buildings to a developer wanting to convert them into apartment complexes. Under the plan, Missouri-based Foutch Brothers LLC has the option to purchase both Phillips and Fair Oaks middle school buildings for $1 a piece, and the school district would be released from its liability. In addition, the board also approved selling the Phillips gym and track to Holy Trinity Parish for $362,000 if the option is used. If not, Holy Trinity could still pay $75,000 for the gym and track and $650,000 in escrow to demolish the Phillips building.
