Dayton Community Celebrates the Life of Kathlynn Shepard
Over 500 people have filled into the Southeast Webster Grand Middle School gym to celebrate the life of 15 year-old Kathlynn Shepard. Shepard was abducted on May 20 in Dayton and her body was found late Friday night in the Des Moines River under the Kate Shelley High Bridge. Almost all in attendance wore purple, Kathlynn's favorite color, and a Minnesota Vikings jersey signed by Adrian Peterson, Kathlynn's favorite player, hung on the pulpit. Michael Shepard, Kathlynn's father, said in his heart, he believes Kathlynn is still smiling:
Shepard went on to encourage those in attendance to "do one kind thing a day and think of Kathlynn".
