Webster County "Freedom Rock" Coming to Fort Dodge
Efforts are ongoing to place a patriotic "Freedom Rock" in each of Iowa's 99 counties, and the city of Fort Dodge can expect to be the site of Webster County's edition. City officials learned last week that Webster County's Freedom Rock will be located on the west side of town off of Second Avenue South, just west of the Karl King Bridge. The Freedom Rock Tour is an effort to have a boulder placed in each county with patriotic artwork. The project to install one in Webster County will cost about $10,000, with about $4,000 going to the artist. It is expected to be complete by 2016.
