Federal Disaster Request Approved for Webster, Other Counties
Webster County was one of 47 Iowa counties to receive a Presidential Disaster Declaration following heavy rains and storms in late May. Under the declaration, counties will receive federal aid to help cover repair costs to damaged infrastructure. Governor Terry Branstad issued a state disaster emergency for Webster County on June 7, and included Webster, Sac, Buena Vista, and Wright counties in the presidential request on June 19. In order to qualify, Webster County had to have an estimated $132,000 worth of damage.
