Mid American Energy to Begin Construction on Wind Farm
In May, Mid American Energy announced plans for a $1.9 billion wind farm project. The wind farm will go up on the Lundgren Wind Farm just south of Fort Dodge. In addition to Webster County, additional wind mills will also be installed in Grundy, O'Brien, Madison, and Marshall counties. One wind farm can generate as much as $400,000 in annual revenue and up to $360 million in property taxes over 30 years. All said and done, Mid American hopes to have around 400 wind mills in place in Iowa. Construction on the new wind farm is set to start later this summer.
