New Cancer Study Needs Volunteers

The American Cancer Society is seeking 250 local volunteers to participate in a nationwide cancer study. On Tuesday, representatives from the American Cancer Society, Unity Point Trinity Regional Medical Center, and the Fort Dodge Rec Center announced the initiative, known as the Cancer Prevention Study-3. To participate, residents must be between 30 and 65 who have never personally been diagnosed with cancer; with the exception of basal cell or squamous cell skin cancer. Liddy Hora, hospital rep for the American Cancer Society, says 47 people had already signed up to participate even before yesterday's kickoff, and she knows the area will come through:

There is no cost to participate. For more information and to register, visit www.CPS3fortdodge.org
