FD Man Accused of Assault, Violation of No-Contact Order

A Fort Dodge man was ordered held on $27,000 bond following an alleged assault incident. The Fort Dodge Police Department says 30 year-old Jermiah Preston was charged with first-degree burglary, domestic assault second offense, and violation of a no-contact order. On Monday night, officers responded to a possible assault in progress in the 3100 block of 16th Avenue North. Officers entered the home and found a woman and her two children locked inside another room to keep away from Preston, who was in violation of the no-contact order. The woman reportedly had minor injuries and the children were unharmed. A preliminary hearing was scheduled for October 10.
