Fort Dodge residents had a special opportunity to see Iowa's judicial system in action at the new middle school Wednesday night. For the 10th time in the last two years, the Iowa Supreme Court left their regular chambers in Des Moines and held a special session in another community, this time Fort Dodge. Chief Justice Mark Cady, a resident of Fort Dodge, said opportunities like these are valuable:
The justices heard oral arguments in two cases; Iowa Farm Bureau vs Environmental Protection Commission and Anthony Geltz vs the State of Iowa. Cady said a written opinion on both cases should come within 90 days.
