In local High School football, the 5th-ranked St Edmond Gaels took care of business and are one win away from a perfect regular season. The Gaels improved to 8-0 after beating Sioux Central 28-12 on the road. Senior fullback Vinnie Harvey ran for 142 yards and two touchdowns in the win. The Gaels will visit Eagle Grove next week. In Fort Dodge, the Dodgers fell to 3-5 on the season after a 28-14 loss to Ankeny. Sophomore running back Sam Cook ran for 152 yards on 33 carries and scored his 8th rushing touchdown of the season. The Dodgers must beat Sioux City North next week to qualify for the postseason. And finally the South Central Calhoun Titans fell to 4-4 on the season. In the first of their two final road games, the Titans lost at Spirit Lake by a 45-12 score. They will travel to East Sac County next Friday night.
