FD Council Approves TIF Payments

The Fort Dodge City Council unanimously approved two development agreements with businesses planning revitalization projects. Payments of $240,000 to Kemna Properties and $20,000 to Wendy's owners Dennis and Jean Johnson were passed, which allows the city to use Tax Increment Financing to assist projects. Kemna is planning to rebuild the existing Kemna Auto, Valvoline, and Auto Smart buildings. City Manager David Fierke says part of the Kemna deal was a $120,000 purchase of land needed for the East Region Storm Sewer Project

A new Wendy's restaurant is current under construction. The Johnson's will be paid the $20,000 in TIF funds over 3 years.
