Nearly a dozen people have been arrested on prostitution charges following a routine sting operation at an Ankeny hotel. Ankeny police arrested 11 people Wednesday at an undisclosed hotel. Authorities rotate prostitution strings among 12 hotels in the city. The arrests stem from an ad that investigators placed on a website, which received about 200 inquires. Police say they focus on individuals who have a presence online and are possibly involved in human trafficking offenses. The individuals arrested face an aggravated misdemeanor charge of prostitution. Additional information about the circumstances of their arrests has not been released.
