Local Volunteers Providing Aid to Illinois Town

Two local volunteers with the Brushy Creek Area chapter of the American Red Cross are in Illinois giving aid to a town ravaged by a weekend tornado. Volunteer coordinator Jenny Hamman says the two volunteers, one from Bradgate and one from Webster City, left Tuesday morning in the emergency response vehicle from the Fort Dodge American Red Cross office. They are joining another 15 Iowa volunteers in Peoria, Il, which was heavily damaged by a weekend storm system that produced dozens of tornadoes across Illinois. One of their tasks will be to provide food for local residents.
