Gaels Can't Slow Down Powerhouse Regina

Powerhouse Iowa City Regina proved to be a bit too much for the St Edmond Gaels in Friday's Class 1A state championship football game. Making its first ever appearance in school history, the Gaels fell to the Regals by a 35-0 score and finished the season with a 13-1 record. With the win, Regina has now won 4 consecutive state championships and will head into next season on a 56-game winning streak. After a 7-0 lead in the 1st quarter, Regina scored three times in the 2nd to put the game out of reach. They were led offensively by quarterback Drew Cook, who completed all 13 of his passes for 177 yards and had two total touchdowns. T.J. O'Tool paced the Gaels with 119 yards on the ground on 18 carries.
