Portion of Highway 3 Will be Repaved Next Year

The Iowa Department of Transportation says a rough portion of Highway 3 in Pocahontas County is scheduled to be complete next year. IDOT officials say a contract for the estimated $5.8 million project will be awarded next year, in which a section of Highway 3 between Pocahontas and Gilmore City will be repaved. Within Pocahontas city limits, the surface will be patched. Also portions of the Highway 3's shoulders that are gravel will also be paved during the project. All work is expected to be complete by the end of the 2014 construction season.
