FD Man Admits Causing Fatal 2012 Crash

A Fort Dodge man has pleaded guilty to charges stemming from a fatal crash that occurred almost one year ago. 21 year-old Austin Brown, who was originally charged with two counts of vehicular homicide by OWI, pleaded guilty to two counts of vehicular homicide by reckless conduct. Brown admitted Tuesday to texting prior to an accident that occurred on Nelson Ave on December 21 of 2012. In addition, Brown also had three "illicit drugs" in his system at the time of the crash. The head-on crash killed 23 year-old Rolfe resident Joseph Reigelsberger and 57 year-old Pocahontas resident Debra Lundt. Brown is scheduled to be sentenced on January 21.
