FD Adjustment Board Approves Temporary Housing Request

The Fort Dodge Board of Adjustment approved a plan for a large house to be used as living space for temporary workers building wind turbines. The Fort Dodge Messenger reports the property at 702 South 30th Street was given approval to operate as a temporary lodging house for as many as 40 tenants in the building. Property owner Charlene Pederson told the board that about 300 construction workers are expected to come to Webster County as part of the Lundgren Wind Energy Project. 109 wind turbines are planned to be built in the county south of Fort Dodge.
