Braley Owns Substancial Fundraising Edge in Senate Race

Democratic U.S. Senate candidate Bruce Braley continues to hold a substantial fundraising lead over the Republicans trying to oppose him in the general election. Financial reports show that Braley raised slightly more than $4 million in 2013 and ended the year with $2.6 million in cash. He is the only Democrat running for the seat being vacated by Sen. Tom Harkin. At least six Republicans are seeking the nomination in 2014. Among them, State Sen. Joni Ernst raised more than $450,000 in 2013. Wealthy businessman Mark Jacobs reported raising $410,000.
