Lohrville Resident Hopes to Challenge Branstad in GOP Primary

A Calhoun County man is trying to get enough signatures to challenge Republican Governor Terry Branstad in an upcoming primary. The Fort Dodge Messenger reports that Lohrville resident Tom Hoefling is looking to get his name on the June primary ballot. About 3,600 signatures are required. Hoefling says if he were elected, he would seek to eliminate the state's income tax and change the state's economic development programs. Hoefling has never held public office.
