Local Officials Report No Major Issues Following Snowstorm

While visibility was severely limited throughout the day Thursday, local law enforcement officials reported no serious issues on city and county roadways. A snowstorm, featuring thunder and hail, dropped around 4.5 inches of snow in Fort Dodge and Clear Lake, while 4 inches fell on Boone and Ackley. Fort Dodge Public Works Director Greg Koch said crews were operating on two eight-hour shifts around the clock since 5:00am Thursday. County crews worked until 6:00pm and started back up at 4:00am Friday. The blizzard warning for the area officially expired at 6:00am.
