Dreesman Held on Bond Following Altercation with Fort Dodge Officers

A Fort Dodge man was ordered held on $13,000 cash bond following an alleged altercation with Fort Dodge police officers. 33 year-old Joshua Dreesman is facing charges of a parole violation, and misdemeanor counts of interference with official acts and criminal mischief. At around 3:40pm Saturday, officers had information that Dreesman was a wanted subject on a parole violation and approached his vehicle in the parking lot of Tobacco Outlet. The parole violation stems from Dreesman allegedly falsifying information on a sex offender registry. Dreesman tried to run from the scene, allegedly knocking Sgt. Dan Charlson unconscious during the incident. Charlson was treated and released from UnityPoint Trinity Regional Medical Center. Dreesman's preliminary hearing was scheduled for March 5
