Great Lakes, Air Choice One Airlines Submit Fort Dodge Proposals
Two airlines have submitted proposals to provide service to the Fort Dodge Regional Airport. The proposals were submitted after federal transportations officials sped up the process of finding a replacement airline. Citing a pilot shortage, Great Lakes Airlines suspended service to Fort Dodge effective February 1. Great Lakes is proposing to bring service back while the other proposal was submitted by St Louis-based Air Choice One. The U.S. Department of Transportation is now accepting public comment on the proposals until March 14. Great Lakes requested a subsidy of almost $2.6 million per year, while Air Choice One requested annual subsidies ranging from $3.6 to $7.4 million.
