Fort Dodge Teen Held on Burglary, Attempted Burglary Charges



A Fort Dodge man was ordered held on $7,000 bond in connection to an alleged burglary and attempted burglary at two different locations early Sunday. 18 year-old Rashad Al-Hameed made his initial appearance on a Class D felony third-degree burglary charge and an aggravated misdemeanor attempted burglary charge. According to criminal complaints, shortly after 3:30am Sunday, Al-Hameed allegedly attempted to break in to Holm Animal Hospital by breaking a window, but was scared away by an alarm before entering. About 10 minutes later, he allegedly entered Netties Restaurant and Soft Serve and stole property. Officers arrested Al-Hameed at his address in the 2000 block of 2nd Avenue S. A preliminary hearing in the case was scheduled for March 26.
