Local Officials Will Take Annual D.C. Trip Next Week
City and county officials are set to make the annual trip to Washington, D.C. to meet with Iowa representatives at the federal level. The contingent, which includes representatives from the city of Fort Dodge, Webster County, and the Greater Fort Dodge Growth Alliance, will update lawmakers on the progress the area has seen and make funding requests for specific development projects. Dennis Plautz, CEO of the growth alliance, says getting face time with federal lawmakers and their staffs on an annual basis is important:
Requests include grant funding for the airport runway rehabilitation project and planned downtown rec center and infrastructure improvements at the ag industrial park. Local officials will be in Washington beginning next Tuesday thru Friday.
