Cyclones Making First Sweet 16 Appearance Since 2000

The Iowa State Cyclones are headed to the Sweet 16 for the first time in 14 years. In their first game without Georges Niang, the Cyclones outlasted the North Carolina Tarheels and escaped with an 85-83 win. DeAndre Kane poured in a game-high 24 points, with his most important bucket coming with two seconds left. With the win, the Cyclones will head to New York for a Friday night battle with 7th seeded Connecticut.
