The Iowa Division of Criminal Investigation announced Thursday that an inquiry into the death of an inmate on March 7th found he'd ingested drugs before his arrest. 34 year-old James Terrell Taylor was taken to the Black Hawk County jail after being arrested on two warrants for failure to appear in court on charges of operating a vehicle while intoxicated and possession of a controlled substance. Taylor became unresponsive in a jail intake area. He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead. An autopsy determined the cause of death was acute amphetamine and methamphetamine intoxication.
