NWS "Red Flag Warning" In Effect Until 7:00pm

The national weather service has issued a red flag warning for the entire state of Iowa until 7:00pm. A red flag warning means that critical fire conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity, and warm temperatures will create explosive fire potential. Forecasters say the greatest fire danger will be this afternoon and the early evening with strong winds gusting over 35 miles per hour. Humidity levels across the state have dropped 20-25 percent. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
