Two Arrests Made, VEISHEA Activities Suspended Following Riots
The Ames Police Department says two arrests have been made in an ongoing investigation into riots that broke out near the Iowa State University campus. The riots occurred overnight during the university's VEISHEA celebration and resulted in a student being seriously injured and found unresponsive in a street. The student's family has requested that his name not be released. In addition, Iowa State University President Steven Leath said that the remainder of this year's VEISHEA will be suspended:
