Escaped Inmate Remains At Large; Considered Dangerous
Des Moines officers say an escaped inmate remains on the loose after being spotted at a gas station late Thursday night. Polk County Sheriff's Lt. Brent Long says that 37-year-old Kenny Bevard escaped around 4:50 p.m. Thursday in Clive while being driven to Adel in Dallas County. Authorities say Bevard was handcuffed when he got out and ran as the Dallas County sheriff's vehicle stopped in traffic. He reached a nearby wooded area. Officials say he may be traveling with another man and woman. He is described as a white male standing 6"1', bald, with tattoos on his arms. He was wearing white and green jumpsuit and may possibly have a black sweatshirt.
