Branstad: Yet to See, Sign Medical Marijuana Bill

Even though Iowa lawmakers passed a bill supporting the use of cannabis oil to treat chronic epilepsy, Governor Terry Branstad says he is reserving judgment about the bill until he sees it on his desk. During his weekly news conference, Branstad said he's talked to the governors of both Utah and Alabama, states that have both passed similar legislation, and they have told him of no issues of any misuse. In order for the bill to become law, Branstad must sign it, something he'll consider once he sees it in its final form:

Under legislation passed by the house and senate, the cannabis oil would need to be acquired in another state and must have a written prescription from a neurologist.
