FD Police Arrest One Following Reports of Suspicious Activity

The Fort Dodge Police Department says an arrest was made after officers responded to reports of suspicious activity and possible burglary in progress. Chief Tim Carmody says on Monday night, officers responded to the 300 block of North 8th Street, when the suspects fled the scene in a vehicle. Shortly after, a witness reported a person hiding in an alley behind the Beacon of Hope shelter. 27 year-old Marian Alexander Brooks was arrested following a foot chase and officers later found the vehicle, which had struck a trailer owned by United Methodist Church. Brooks is facing two counts of interference with official acts and several traffic violations. Carmody says at this point, there is not enough evidence to charge a potential second suspect. The investigation is ongoing.
