Former Lottery Worker Charged with Fraud in Webster County
A former Iowa lottery worker has been charged with several felony fraud counts after investigators say they found criminal wrongdoing. The Iowa Department of Public Safety said Friday that Alta resident Toni Hammer has been charged in Webster County with seven felony counts of lottery fraud and one count of tampering with records, a misdemeanor. Investigators say Hammer kept seven scratch lottery tickets she was supposed to deliver to area stores. The tickets netted less than $150 in winnings. Hammer made her initial appearance in Webster County Magistrate Court on Friday, and was allowed to be released with supervision to the Department of Corrections.
