Webster County Sheriff's Office Continues Investigation of Sunday Home Invasion



the Webster County Sheriff's Office is leading the investigation into an apparent attempted home invasion in the Coleman District. Sheriff Jim Stubbs says the incident occurred around 6:00am Sunday when what started out as a male asking questions escalated into a robbery situation. Stubbs reports a male resident suffered severe stab wounds and was hospitalized at UnityPoint-Trinity Regional Medical Center. In addition, a white male suspect suffered gunshot wounds to the upper torso. He fled the scene, was later found by authorities in the Mill Road area, and transported to UnityPoint-Trinity Regional Medical Center. He was later life flighted to another hospital. Stubbs says names and charges are not being released yet as the investigation continues.
