Fort Dodge Board of Adjustments Approves AFES Gym Plans



The Fort Dodge Board of Adjustment approved plans for a new gymnasium to be built for a non-profit organization that provides after-school youth programs. The Fort Dodge Messenger reports plans for the gym were approved for Athletics for Education and Success. Established in 2004, AFES provides after-school sports, mentoring, and educational programs, and is housed in the former Hillcrest Elementary School. The new gym is a proposed 10,000 square foot building that will be located on the property's northeast side.
