FD Police: No Injuries in Apparent Drive-by Shooting

The Fort Dodge Police Department says nobody was injured in an alleged drive-by shooting Thursday afternoon. Police Chief Tim Carmody says officers were sent to the 1000 block of 9th Avenue SW to investigate damage to a tan Kia Spectra. The vehicle owner, Vera Altman, reported that her son was driving the vehicle in the area of 2nd Avenue N and 11th Street and came to an intersection. While stopped, her son said that a crossover style SUV approached the intersection. One of two subjects in the vehicle reportedly fired a firearm at the Kia, striking it once. The vehicle then fled the area. No one was injured. Carmody says investigators have spoken with witnesses and will continue to follow up. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Fort Dodge Police or Webster County Crime Stoppers.
