"Twilight" Imposter In Court Today on Enticement, Weapons Charges
A California man accused of enticing a Baxter teenager while pretending to be a Hollywood actor will be in court Monday. 33 year-old David LaVera is scheduled to appear in Jasper County court on enticement and weapons charges. LaVera is charged with enticing a 14-year-old into his car at a Baxter park. A relative was able to track her down, and she was unharmed. A search of the vehicle uncovered two swords and other dagger-style weapons. Authorities said LaVera arrived in Jasper County three weeks ago and started befriending area teenage girls posing as an actor in the "Twilight Saga" series before he was arrested June 10.
