Fort Dodge Seeing Minor Flooding Issues Along Des Moines River

The National Weather Service says a river flood warning is now in effect until further notice for the Des Moines River at Fort Dodge. It is also in effect from the municipal power dam to Lehigh. Late this morning, the stage was measured at 11.5 feet, which would be one foot above flood stage. The weather service says minor flooding is occurring and is forecast to continue. Webster County EMA coordinator Tony Jorgensen has been out monitoring past problem areas throughout the day :

City Public Works Director Greg Koch says some low line areas near the river have experienced minor flooding. Crews have closed Avenue B at Avenue C in both directions, and have also barricaded the boat ramp by the old golf course.
