Search Suspended for Kids Reported Missing in Des Moines River

Rescue crews from several agencies spent over two hours searching for two kids who may have went missing in the Des Moines River. Crews searched about a 5 mile stretch between the Kenyon Road Bridge south to Coalville after eyewitnesses reported seeing two kids go into the water at around 7:00pm. The only description was one was wearing an orange shirt. Due to darkness and unsafe river conditions, the search was suspended at about 9:30pm. Fort Dodge Fire Chief Kent  Hulett said no calls have been to the Webster County law enforcement center regarding missing children reports. Police Chief Tim Carmody says rescue efforts will resume in the morning.
