Officials have confirmed three tornadoes hit Iowa during recent severe weather. The National Weather Service says three tornadoes hit Monday in south central and east central Iowa as severe weather packing heavy rain and hail moved across the state. A tornado in Tama County rated as an EF-2, which means winds ranged between 111 and 135 mph. The other two tornadoes in Adair and Madison counties rated as an EF-1, which means winds ranged between 86 and 110 mph. The first EF-1 tornado heavily damaged a house and several outbuildings near Stuart. The second EF-1 tornado damaged a house and several trees.
