FD Teen Injured in Apparent Drive-By Shooting

The Fort Dodge Police Department is asking for the public’s help after a 17 year-old boy suffered a gunshot wound. Police Chief Tim Carmody says at about 1:30am, officers responded to reports of possible gun shots fired in the area of the 300 block of North 8th or North 9th streets. Officers spoke with witnesses and searched the area, but didn’t find evidence of the shots. About 20 minutes later, a 17 year-old male arrived at UnityPoint-Trinity Regional Medical Center with a gunshot wound to the forearm. He stated that he was outside his house in the 800 block of 4th Avenue North when a dark 4-door car drove by and fired multiple shots. He was treated and released from the emergency room. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact Fort Dodge police or Webster County Crime Stoppers.
