Closing Arguments Completed in Linn County Murder Case
A Linn County judge is considering the fate of a 20-year-old man accused of killing a former women's basketball standout from Cedar Rapids. Closing arguments were completed Tuesday in the nonjury trial of Tajh Ross. He is charged with first-degree murder in the September 2012 death of 19-year-old Latasha Roundtree. Ross admitted to prosecutors that he fired a weapon, but never intended to shoot at the car Roundtree was riding in and never intended to kill her. Judge Robert Sosalla is expected to file his verdict in the next few weeks. Ross faces life in prison without parole if he's convicted.
