Cash Mob Fort Dodge - December 15, 2012
The Cash Mob hit local Fort Dodge businesses the morning of Saturday, December 15. Participants were instructed to meet at Central Perk and Dessert at 9:00am to find out where they were going. From there it was a secret, but they went to the chosen businesses and went shopping.

2012 Polar Plunge
The 2012 Polar Plunge was held at Kennedy Park on Sunday, November 4, 2012. The participants could raise money be either taking the Polar Plunge or being a "Chicken" by staying out of the water. All funds raised from this event went to the Special Olympics.

2012 Fort Dodge Chili Lovers Society Chili Cookoff
The 29th Annual Fort Dodge Chili Lovers Society Chili Cookoff was held on Sunday, October 14 at the Fort Museum in Fort Dodge. Ten chili cooking teams were on hand, including two new teams. A total of 600 bowls were sold this year, which is over 100 more than last year. This years winners were:

105 Days of Summer Winner
On Thursday, September 27, 2012, we held a party at Amigos here in Fort Dodge to announce the winner for the custom 1991 Pontiac Firebird Convertible. All of the qualifiers were invited as they needed to be present to be able to win the car. Name after name was called to choose a consilation prize until the winning name was called. Jenny Richardson's name was the winning name that was drawn.

Another installment of Market on Central took place on Saturday, July 28th. It started out as a rainy, gloomy day, but that didn't stop people from coming down and taking in the rain soaked bi-monthly event. Great vendors braved the elements so that those who attended still got the full effect on Market on Central.

Dragon Boat Bash
Hundereds braved the steady rain Saturday morning for the 16th annual Dragon Boat Bash. Races went on all day, and many activities were taking place on shore, including Fort Dodge cheerleaders doing face-painting. All money raised this weekend goes to cancer research, as well as the new Cancer Center being built by Trinity Regional Medical Center.

Thousands line Central Avenue again, on another beautiful Saturday for Market on Central. The theme for the day was "Fun at the County Fair". A corn shucking contest and a pie baking contest were held in the morning, and the Steppin’ Xpress Cloggers took the stage at 9AM.

Frontier Days 2012
The 38th Annual Frontier Days was held June 2, 3, & 4, 2012 at the Fort Museum in Fort Dodge, Iowa. Friday night was started with the opening ceremony, which was followed by the opening of the Buckskinners Camp. At 5:00pm, the Big Top kicked off the Frontier Days festivities.
