Two People Arrested In Fort Dodge After Police Pursuit

Two people were arrested Thursday afternoon after leading The Fort Dodge Police Department on a pursuit. 34 year old Morquett B. Jackson and 56 year old Johnnie Jackson Jr both of Fort Dodge were taken into custody after an officer performed a traffic stop on them. The driver drove away from the traffic stop , then continued to elude police at low speeds in the four block radius from Central Ave and 12th Street. The driver then fled the vehicle on foot in the 1200 block of 1st Avenue North and was taken into custody. The passenger also ran from police and during the foot pursuit allegedly punched an officer in the face. Illegal drugs were found during this investigation and future charges are pending. As of the time of this report, Morquett B. Jackson is being charged with eluding, interference with official acts causing bodily injury and multiple traffic citations. Johnnie Jackson Jr. is being charged with assault on a person in certain occupations causing bodily injury and interference with official acts causing bodily injury.
