J. Michael Devine was born in Algona, Iowa and graduated from Iowa Central Community College. I’ve worked at radio stations in North Carolina, Arkansas, Virginia, Wisconsin and Spencer as well as Ft. Dodge. In radio off and on for more than 30 years. Talk-radio at AM 1400 KVFD and mid-days on K-97, afternoons at Classic Hits 105.9 the Eagle. I have a grown, married son in Cedar Rapids who grew up in Fort Dodge and attended school here as did his wife. They’re making me a grandfather. How cool is that? I’m a military veteran and I’m the son and father of men awarded the purple heart during their military service. I would fight again today if called. I’m a member of the American Legion, VFW, and a past member of the Cub Scouts. I attend church. LOVE talking politics and sports. Like the Twins, Cubs and Vikings. Ultimate fighting and Hawkeye wrestling. Basketball is for girls. My wife is deceased. We grew up, as did our parents grandparents and great-grandparents within an hours drive of Fort Dodge. Radio has an important role to play in our lives, especially in emergencies.
