This year’s Iowa State Fair has been cancelled. The State Fair Board voted 11-2 to cancel this year’s fair which was originally scheduled for August. Iowa State Fair CEO Gary Slater said “social distancing properly would have been a major a challenge.” The Iowa Dept. Of Public Health recommending postponing the fair. Iowa follows Minnesota and Wisconsin who already cancelled their state fairs for this year. Slater went onto to say ” holding the fair this year wasn’t feasible but the fair board looks forward to next year”. The 2021 Iowa State Fair has been scheduled for August 12-22nd.
