(Alpha Media – Brooke Bickford) The Fort Dodge Regional Airport will be buzzing Saturday morning as veterans take off for a whirlwind trip to the nation’s capital as part of the Brushy Creek Honor Flight.

Airport Director Rhonda Chambers says they are hoping to see a big crowd gather to welcome the veterans home.

She says doors will open at 9:30 pm and the welcome home will include a water cannon salute, introduction of the returning veterans and the Brushy Creek Area Honor Flight Band will perform.

Chambers says the veterans should be home a little after 10:00 pm but doors open at 9:30 pm and this is not an event that you want to miss.
