Algona Woman Sentenced To Five Years In Prison

An Algona woman has been sentenced to prison on charges stemming from incidents around North Central Iowa.  32-year-old Heather Schulz pleaded guilty to two counts of identity theft and one count of 4th degree theft. She was sentenced to a total of five years in prison. Police say Schulz was involved in forging checks with 47-year-old Mark Mendenhall of Fort Dodge. The checks were allegedly used from September 29th-October 11th at businesses in Fort Dodge, Boone, Altoona and Jefferson. Her prison sentences are to run consecutively, while she  also serves concurrent sentences on charges from Kossuth County for possession of a firearm by a felon and felony forgery.
