A heating issue at Almost Home Animal Shelter in Fort Dodge is still causing some major concerns today.

According to spokesperson for the shelter, Allix Black, the heat in the dog area was working for a short time on Saturday night and then quit working again.

With negative temperatures in the forecast Black spoke about the tough situation on the Mix Morning Show with Jane E Morgan And Jay Thomas.

“They’ve had a few very cold nights. Luckily yesterday was nicer outside and it was sunny so that hopefully helped make it a little warmer for them, but the next couple days are going to be really cold again so we are really really hoping that the tech can get it figured out today.” Black said waiting to get the mechanics fixed is really all they are able to do now.

“It’s been kinda tough but we’re doing our best keeping it warm using the electric heaters. I don’t know how much of a difference it’s making but we are trying.” Black said.

The issues began on Saturday where in the cat area temperatures were down to 50 degrees and the dog part of the facility water was partially frozen and the floor heating system wasn’t working.

The center is always in need of help and donations and this fix will most likely be an expensive one. You can make a donation to Almost Home by going to their Facebook Page.
