Two area high school baseball teams are set to square off on Iowa’s biggest stage on Monday. Southeast Valley and Pocahontas Area will take their Twin Lakes Conference Rivalry to Principal Park in Des Moines. Normally, the park serves as the home of the Iowa Cubs. However, when the I-Cubs are on the road the park opens its doors for high school games.
Southeast Valley Associate Head Coach Brad Anderson was a guest on the “Hy-Vee Fort Dodge Coaches Corner” over the weekend. He spoke with Rob Jones and talked about how the opportunity came about.
Anderson says their program has played at Principal Park in the past and it has provided some awesome memories. He says he knows their current group of players is looking forward to the experience.
Southeast Valley will be looking to sweep the season series, after taking the first game earlier this season. The SE Valley and Pocahontas Area game is set for a 2 PM 1st pitch.
