Area Softball And Baseball Report From Thursday Night
Thursday Night was a bit of a less hectic compared to the earlier part of the week for area teams. Some area teams had the night off while others were at back at it. St. Edmond Baseball was able to shake off 2 straight losses to bounce back. The Gaels beat Clarion-Goldfield-Dows 4-2 at Rogers Park. Gaels scored 2 in the 1st and 5th in route to the victory. Peyton Scott picked up his 2nd win in as many starts on the hill for St. Edmond. Scott went the distance, scattering 4 hits allowing 2 runs just 1 earned and struck out 8. Algona baseball fell to Spirit lake 9-4. Spirit Lake put up a 6 spot in the 4th to take control of the game. Algona walked 9 hitters and made 5 errors on the night. Cameron Rindone with 2 hits and an RBI for Algona.
Schedule For Friday- Fort Dodge Baseball and Softball on road at Des Moines East for double headers. Baseball slated to start at 3:30, Softball 5 PM. St. Edmond Baseball and Softball slated to host Hampton-Dumont-Cal at Rogers Park. 1st pitch for baseball scheduled for 6:30 and Softball 7:30. Southeast Valley Softball and Baseball at South Central Calhoun for a 5:30 start. Manson NW Webster Baseball at Roland-Story for a 7 PM 1st pitch,
