Area Softball & Baseball Report From Friday
#1 Fort Dodge Softball a road sweep of Urbandale in a double header. Dodgers took the 1st game 13-0 and 12-4 in the 2nd. Jalen Adams the winning pitcher in game one throwing a 5 inning, 1 hit , shutout striking out 7. Dodger Senior Loghen Schnetzer continued her hot streak at the plate, she had 6 hits and 9 RBI’s in the two games, Schnetzer raised her average to .684 and her RBI total to 19 in six games. TK Doster and Jalen Adams with 4 hits each in the twin bill, Troy Bennett with 7 runs scored. Dodgers have a 3 game home invite Saturday (weather permitting). Dodgers are scheduled to play three ranked teams in the invite taking on Newell-Fonda, Winterset, and Harlan.
Fort Dodge Baseball with a road split in the doubleheader at #1 Urbandale. Dodgers dropped the 1st game 12-1 and won the night cap 11-10. Dodgers had an 11-3 lead in the 6th, Urbandale rallied to score 7 in the final two innings but fell short. Dodgers got the final out by picking off an Urbandale runner at 1st. Sawyer Springer with 4 RBI’s, Mason Bockoven with two hits. Dodgers are at Ottumwa Monday for a double header starting 5 PM.
St. Edmond softball fell to #2 Humboldt on the road 15-5. Humboldt scored 13 of their 15 in the 1st 2 innings. Gaels back in action at unbeaten Algona Monday.
